This annual event is presented by the Home & Building Association of Greater Grand Rapids. The event features home remodeling projects that have been completed within the past two years. Entry into this program is open to all licensed contractor members of the Home & Building Association of Greater Grand Rapids.

Whole House Remodel in Holland
Creekside Construction Inc., builders and renovators of fine homes for over 14 years, welcomes tours of this Holland area home transformation.
This spectacular home renovation includes the entire design collaboration of three floors along with a beautiful gathering room addition that makes this home live comfortably. The floorplan was re-designed including moving two stairways to accommodate new ideas that allowed for transition into a new kitchen, office, great room, laundry, dining, master closet, guest quarters in the lower level, and a third stall garage for extra storage.
Extra effort was taken in the design to smooth and blend the old into the new so one would never know that Creekside utilized much of the original structure and siding. With its two stone fireplaces, granite countertops, stainless appliances, heated tile floors, custom and semi custom cabinets, wood trims including custom wood stairway, all together with the planked wood floor makes this home quietly whisper “come over and relax”.

Cottage remodel - living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom & bath, office & half-bath in Holland
This homeowner only intended to replace their worn carpeting and ended up with a remodel of the entire main floor. The dining area was enlarged and natural lighting added by larger windows and patio door. The entryway was opened up and improved with the addition of custom lockers, tile floor, and new entry door.
The entire kitchen was replaced with new custom cabinets, appliances and granite tops. The island features a walnut top with seating on one end. New floor and backsplash tile accent the painted finish on the cabinetry.
The main floor received all new trim and doors, lighting and paint. The existing gas fireplace in the living area was repositioned and updated with new stone and hearth. A new frameless shower surround, fixtures, and framed mirror helped to update the master bath.
Outside, the stunning view of Lake Michigan was enhanced by a new covered sitting area which features a cedar-framed roof, new lighting and outdoor sound. The existing deck was re-worked and enlarged and the old decking was replaced with new PVC deck boards. Finally, new carpeting was installed on the main floor.

Working in partnership with the homeowners, this home has been transformed with a complete renovation! What was once a standard subdivision home that just happened to be on a lake is now an elegant and comfortable retreat from the everyday business of life. The walkout lower level was made more inviting by renovating the staircase. The lower level includes the addition of a wet bar and remodeled bath with an abundance of ceramic tile and a heated floor. Downsizing to a condo, doesn’t mean downsizing on style! The kitchen received new cherry cabinetry with an autumn cocoa glaze. Granite countertops, sink and faucet completed the room.
A tiled shower was added to the master bath, along with a steamed mist custom glass enclosure. A new vanity countertop and faucet were also added.
The guest bath received a stylish update with a free-standing cherry vanity, granite top, vessel bowl and faucet. The shower also received a new look with tile, a glass door and new plumbing fixtures.

The kitchen renovation started with bare walls and finished with a stunning area that reflects the homeowners’ personal style. Housed in Historic Downtown Lowell, Hearthstone Design Studio’s showroom has been built seamlessly into Lowell’s historical 1890’s “Lowell State Bank” building, previously condemned when purchased in 2001. Although the re-model was exceptionally challenging, every effort was made to retain all original character of the building and to add new historically sensitive amenities. Hearthstone moved into the finished project in 2003.
In 2008 Hearthstone’s showroom was expanded in concerted effort with Progressive Construction Company to include the top story! We created our unique representation of an “Apartment in Paris” as showroom and luxurious home for Hearthstone’s owners. The space showcases a custom gourmet kitchen, ingenious tile layouts in 2 full baths, antique architectural accents, unique space saving solutions, unusual ceilings, window treatments, wall finishes and French inspired flooring designs. We are excited to be able to show our client’s an unparalleled and fresh example of creativity in home design through our apartment!
